From August 16th to 18th, 2024, the Trnavská Brána Festival will dress the city in folklore. The streets will be adorned with folk costumes from morning, but the most festive lace and moments await you in the amphitheater in the evening. Bring your children to the festival!
During Trnavská Brána, the city's "korzo" (promenade) will transform into a folk marketplace. Craft "fairs" will be spread out on the pedestrian zone every day from 10:00 AM. Live folklore performances will be complemented by the Trnavská Brána Photo Street Gallery, offering a glimpse into historical moments and the beauty of Trnava. On Divadelná Street, you can say "yes" to the "Wedding Costumes from the Trnava Plain" exhibition. Photographs will depict costumes from three areas - Siladice, Cífer, and Trnava. The program on the pedestrian zone is truly richly woven.
Hurry to the Courtyards!
On Saturday, Trnavská Brána moves into the city courtyards as well. At Nádvorie - the space of contemporary culture, 40 embroiderers and lace makers from Trnava, Bratislava, Nová Dubnica, Martin, Prešov, and Moravia will present the beauty of their crafts. Jarmila Rybánska, Master of Folk Art Production, and Aneta Vlčková, ethnologist from the West Slovak Museum in Trnava, will provide captivating lectures on bobbin lace. In the atrium of the Creative Center Trnava, the sound of looms will resonate. The Weaving and Spinning Courtyard was already praised last year. You will also be able to try out the precious weaving craft in creative workshops. On Saturday, don't miss the "Clay Workshop" (O hline), which will connect you with the earth through song and dance. At the Trnava Enlightenment Center, the Trnava Dance Courtyard will take place from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and at 3:00 PM, Kindršúla, a courtyard for children big and small, full of games, creative workshops with a folklore school, will open.

First Evening in the Amphitheater: From Bosnia to Zemplín
The festive "Open, Trnava Gates!" will resound in the city amphitheater on the very first evening, Friday, from 6:00 PM. Find a seat with a good view from the yellow chairs. Behind the scenes, a line-up of dancers is ready to heat up the stage. The smallest ones will be the first to stomp the stage. At 8:00 PM, FS Rozsutec will perform with the "Lovely Beauty" (Ľúbezná krása) program, and finally, the evening will conclude with a concert by perhaps the most popular East Slovak band, Iconito, and singers from the Korene project, sure to raise your pulse.

Second Evening in the Amphitheater: Tribute to Guests and Festival Highlight with Local Folklore Stars
The second evening in the amphitheater will also begin at 6:00 PM with the program "Dojdzite k nám" (Come Visit Us). This will bring performances from different corners of the world. The Folklore Ensemble Handrlák from the Czech Republic will bring their typical Czech dances and musical traditions to the stage. The Folklore Ensemble Piskavica from Bosnia and Herzegovina will arrive from the heart of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and with its authentic repertoire and dynamic dances, it is sure to impress. At 8:30 PM, the festival will culminate with the program "Tradovanie v trojici" (Tradition in Trio), which will include performances by traditional Slovak folklore ensembles. UFS Trnafčan, FS Považan, and FS Ekonóm will present their best choreographies and musical numbers, reflecting the rich Slovak culture and its diversity in folklore art.

On the third and final day of the festival, we will let the colorful folklore experiences resonate within us. The morning will be dedicated to a folk mass, and in the afternoon, we will move to the amphitheater for a performance by the Folklore Ensemble Máj.
